The Day After...

OK, so this is why I have so much time right now...I don't think Kirsten has been this tired in a long time. I also don't think she's thrown so many fits in all her life as she has today. Hopefully she'll feel better after her little snooze!

Christmas Day!

After not having a nap for 3 days and not sleeping well because of a cough, we had to wake Kirsten up on Christmas morning. It took a while but she was eventually excited to see what Santa brought her.
Kirsten has asked every Santa she's seen since Thanksgiving for a baby doll so she wasn't to surprised to find one on Christmas morning.
Kirsten and I love to cook together! We were very excited about the matching aprons from my family.
We woke up one morning and I told Kirsten we were going to go get daddy a present for Christmas. She said she wanted to get him some chocolate; I asked her what kind and she said "orange". So she picked out this chocolate orange for daddy and then proceeded to eat about half of it on Christmas morning.
Kirsten was very surprised to see that Santa brought her a crib for her baby doll too. She didn't understand why he would do that when she only asked for a doll. She got a new bike with pedals from Grammy! She also enjoyed playing DDR.

Christmas Eve

Our First Christmas Alone...Since we're all the way out here on the East Coast we decided we'd better stay home for Christmas. I made us a big meal on Christmas Eve (we went over to someone's house for Christmas) which was very exciting and actually turned out pretty good.
We acted out the Nativity. Kirsten was a very good Mary. We told her daddy was going to be the donkey and she said "and mommy can be Shrek!".
Here's her new pair of Christmas pajamas.
She had been watching a lot of Christmas movies so she knew Santa likes cookies and milk. After eating a cookie herself, she gave the rest to Santa.
I had to get a picture of our big Christmas tree. We went to a tree farm a few weeks ago and cut down a tree that's probably about 10 feet tall. It was pretty interesting trying to get it to stand up straight. We figured we may never have ceilings this high again, so what the heck.

New York City

We went to New York on Saturday. We drove to a town just across the river and took the train over to New York. It was really cold but we had fun just walking around.
Here's Time Square. Kirsten looks happy, but just a few hours later she threw up all over the table at the restaurant! That was exciting.
I've always wanted to go ice skating in Rockefeller center but as you can see it was soo crowded, besides the fact that it cost 27 bucks a person to ice skate! So we just attempted to walk by without running anyone over with the stroller.

Kirsten's Favorite Part...

Kirsten loved the window displays at Macy's. When we ask her about her favorite part of New York City she says the windows. They were pretty cool.

Strasburg Train

We went on this really cute train ride in Lancaster County through Amish country last Saturday. This is a HORRIBLE picture of me, but you can see how cute the inside of the train is.

Santa Claus came around on the train and gave out little binoculars. It was all very exciting for Kirsten. After we went on the train we went into the town of Strasburg and ate lunch at this adorable restaurant. It was a really cute old town. I love seeing all the little horse and buggies driving by with the Amish people.

Santa Clause is Coming to Town!

Ok, so we live in this really adorable little town in Pennsylvania. Last weekend was the Christmas parade. Every year on the day of the Christmas parade Santa Clause goes through every neighborhood on top of a fire truck. We didn't know until he came but they turn on the sirens and then the "elves" give candy canes to everyone. It was the cutest thing! Kirsten absolutely loved it. She kept hearing the sirens all day and waited for Santa to come back.

It's blurry because I took it out the window (it was WAY too cold to go outside!) but I just thought it was so cute!

Trip to Oklahoma

Alright I'm finally putting pictures up from Thanksgiving. I was really lazy so I didn't take very many pictures, but here are a few of the highlights.

Jonathan's mom made the trip down from Alaska so we got to see her over Thanksgiving. She lives way up in Nome and so she always has all kinds of interesting things. This is an arctic fox fur that Kirsten thought was pretty cool.
We went to the Oklahoma Aquarium with my family. Here's Kirsten looking very motherly with Bryce and Emily.
Bryce was so cute looking at all the fish and everything.
Papa helped her feed the turtles.
Kirsten LOVED seeing her cousin "Baby Bryce" for the first time she wanted to hold him every chance she got.

Going Home!

Well, we are heading home for 2 weeks starting tomorrow so you probably won't hear from us until we get back. We find out what we're having the day after we get home so that should be very exciting! Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Halloween Day

We started out day with some orange pancakes. Kirsten told everyone that we had "orange waffles" for breakfast. (sorry for the obscene picture but Kirsten's a messy cook, she only dropped 2 eggs on the floor today though)
Jonathan got to come home from work early so we were finally able to carve our pumpkins. Kirsten wanted hers to be scary so I did my best to make hers look scary. It was finally time for Kirsten to put her costume on. She was so excited because she got to wear makeup!
I included this picture for those of you who know Kirsten. She is always sucking on her 2 middle fingers and holding onto her hair. It was funny to watch her try and suck on her fingers with gloves and hold her hair with mickey mouse ears on.

I took Kirsten trick or treating around our neighborhood. She loved telling people they had cute costumes and saying "Trick or treat".By the time we were done kirsten was so tired that when I would tell her to hold out her basket for candy she would say, "I already have candy I want to go home" It was a fun but exhausting day!

Minnie Mouse

We went to a Trunk or Treat at church on Saturday. Kirsten dressed up like Minnie Mouse. She was so excited because she's IN LOVE with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. There's an episode where Daisy is trying to get her "pretend doctor's sticker" so Kirsten pretends like she's daisy all the time. She asks us what's wrong with us and does funny things to help us feel better. Like giving us "jumping beans" when our arms hurt. It's been pretty entertaining.

Melinda, Joseph, and River come for a visit, yay!

One of my best friends, Melinda, came down to visit us about a week and a half ago from Syracuse. We had so much fun! We walked around a bunch of cool historical sites and we went to this really adorable children's museum in Philly. I've only seen her and her adorable boys, Joseph and River, 2 times since they were born!! So, needless to say, we had a great time! Kirsten really did have fun even though she looks miserable. My camera was running out of batteries and I made Kirsten sit on that tractor for another second so I could take the picture before my batteries died. I'm so mean huh?

So silly!

It's so funny when Kirsten starts doing things that I know she got from me (and kindof scary too!). Tonight before bed she was stalling. She put her finger up to her lips and goes "hmm, hmm, hmm, what about, my kitty cat fruit snacks are for church." I didn't understand her at first so she puts her little hands on my face and says "no mom, my kitty cat fruit snacks..." and she gets so excited when I finally get what she means.

She's also made really good friends with her appendages, she'll talk to her hands and feet like they're people. We always get onto her for sticking her feet in the arm rest in our car because they get stuck. So, on Saturday we were in the car and I could hear her saying "get out of there right now or you'll be in big trouble." I asked her who she was talking to and she said her feet. I looked back and her foot was stuck in the arm rest. It was pretty funny.

Go Cougars!

Sorry this is sideways. I looked up how to rotate it and it seemed too complicated!
(Jonathan figured it out)...

Chester County Creamery

There was this really adorable 2 week old calf that we got to pet at the creamery we went to on Saturday.

We went to this creamery and farm about 10 miles from home. Kirsten tried to feed ALL the animals grass and she loved riding on the "tractor" to another pumpkin patch.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Pumpkin patch last weekend. Kirsten had a blast playing, feeding the goats, and "picking" pumpkins.
