The Day After...

OK, so this is why I have so much time right now...I don't think Kirsten has been this tired in a long time. I also don't think she's thrown so many fits in all her life as she has today. Hopefully she'll feel better after her little snooze!

Christmas Day!

After not having a nap for 3 days and not sleeping well because of a cough, we had to wake Kirsten up on Christmas morning. It took a while but she was eventually excited to see what Santa brought her.
Kirsten has asked every Santa she's seen since Thanksgiving for a baby doll so she wasn't to surprised to find one on Christmas morning.
Kirsten and I love to cook together! We were very excited about the matching aprons from my family.
We woke up one morning and I told Kirsten we were going to go get daddy a present for Christmas. She said she wanted to get him some chocolate; I asked her what kind and she said "orange". So she picked out this chocolate orange for daddy and then proceeded to eat about half of it on Christmas morning.
Kirsten was very surprised to see that Santa brought her a crib for her baby doll too. She didn't understand why he would do that when she only asked for a doll. She got a new bike with pedals from Grammy! She also enjoyed playing DDR.

Christmas Eve

Our First Christmas Alone...Since we're all the way out here on the East Coast we decided we'd better stay home for Christmas. I made us a big meal on Christmas Eve (we went over to someone's house for Christmas) which was very exciting and actually turned out pretty good.
We acted out the Nativity. Kirsten was a very good Mary. We told her daddy was going to be the donkey and she said "and mommy can be Shrek!".
Here's her new pair of Christmas pajamas.
She had been watching a lot of Christmas movies so she knew Santa likes cookies and milk. After eating a cookie herself, she gave the rest to Santa.
I had to get a picture of our big Christmas tree. We went to a tree farm a few weeks ago and cut down a tree that's probably about 10 feet tall. It was pretty interesting trying to get it to stand up straight. We figured we may never have ceilings this high again, so what the heck.

New York City

We went to New York on Saturday. We drove to a town just across the river and took the train over to New York. It was really cold but we had fun just walking around.
Here's Time Square. Kirsten looks happy, but just a few hours later she threw up all over the table at the restaurant! That was exciting.
I've always wanted to go ice skating in Rockefeller center but as you can see it was soo crowded, besides the fact that it cost 27 bucks a person to ice skate! So we just attempted to walk by without running anyone over with the stroller.

Kirsten's Favorite Part...

Kirsten loved the window displays at Macy's. When we ask her about her favorite part of New York City she says the windows. They were pretty cool.

Strasburg Train

We went on this really cute train ride in Lancaster County through Amish country last Saturday. This is a HORRIBLE picture of me, but you can see how cute the inside of the train is.

Santa Claus came around on the train and gave out little binoculars. It was all very exciting for Kirsten. After we went on the train we went into the town of Strasburg and ate lunch at this adorable restaurant. It was a really cute old town. I love seeing all the little horse and buggies driving by with the Amish people.

Santa Clause is Coming to Town!

Ok, so we live in this really adorable little town in Pennsylvania. Last weekend was the Christmas parade. Every year on the day of the Christmas parade Santa Clause goes through every neighborhood on top of a fire truck. We didn't know until he came but they turn on the sirens and then the "elves" give candy canes to everyone. It was the cutest thing! Kirsten absolutely loved it. She kept hearing the sirens all day and waited for Santa to come back.

It's blurry because I took it out the window (it was WAY too cold to go outside!) but I just thought it was so cute!

Trip to Oklahoma

Alright I'm finally putting pictures up from Thanksgiving. I was really lazy so I didn't take very many pictures, but here are a few of the highlights.

Jonathan's mom made the trip down from Alaska so we got to see her over Thanksgiving. She lives way up in Nome and so she always has all kinds of interesting things. This is an arctic fox fur that Kirsten thought was pretty cool.
We went to the Oklahoma Aquarium with my family. Here's Kirsten looking very motherly with Bryce and Emily.
Bryce was so cute looking at all the fish and everything.
Papa helped her feed the turtles.
Kirsten LOVED seeing her cousin "Baby Bryce" for the first time she wanted to hold him every chance she got.
