So, I'm the enrichment leader in our ward at church. For our Christmas party this year we're going to give all the women books with Christmas stories in them. I've pretty much exhausted all my resources to find good Christmas stories and am still in need of much more. So, I'm wondering, what are your favorite Christmas stories?

A little bit of Kirsten
The other day Kirsten went behind the couch and said, "don't look", when she came out like this and said "look I'm old". For some reason she thinks old people wear their pants up to their chest.
One day I was asking Kirsten what she wanted to be when she grows up, a doctor?, a teacher?..."no", she says "I just want to work at ConocoPhillips."
Today was Kirsten's last day of Ballet
The whole class
At the end of ballet Colton gets to come in for freeze dance.
Kirsten loves getting her little brother to crawl and run around with her.

Finally a Haircut
I've been growing Colton's hair out for a little while. Mostly I was just curious to see if it would ever actually lay down or if it was possible for it just to get bigger and bigger. I must admit I was a little sad to see his little mop disappear.
But I think he looks pretty cute without it too.

Halloween Week
Warning: this post has lots of low quality phone pictures.
We started out by going to another party at the library during story time. The kids made treat bags and went trick-or-treating to all the desks in the library.
Kirsten wore her tutu to the Y and school on Thursday. On Friday the Y had a little party for the kids.
On Thursday we went to Daddy's work for some trick-or-treating. Colton finally wore his sheep costume and amazingly enough did not pull too many cotton balls off.

Hanging out in daddy's office after.
On Friday night our friends came over to carve pumpkins.
Kirsten wanted to do it all by herself. She cleaned the pumpkin, colored a face on it and I let her carve it with a butter knife.
It actually turned out pretty awesome.
Saturday night was the ward carnival and trunk or treat. The kids ate hot dogs and played lots of carnival games. Their favorite was digging through the wheat for some treasure. I must say Halloween in Midland is kind of lame. Every church has a trunk or treat on Halloween and hardly anyone is home for trick-or-treating. But, me being the traditionalist that I am, I could not go through Halloween without trick-or-treating door to door like you're supposed to. So we walked up and down the streets around our house hitting everyone with their lights on.
And actually ended up with quite a bit of candy. The girls took the kids trick-or-treating while the boys stayed to pass out candy. Although only about 4 people came by our house. It was a great week!

Pumpkin Patch
We went to the local Pumpkin "patch" last week.
Kirsten wanted to try out everyone of these.
Colton just kept pointing and saying "ball".
And then they found the dirt.

Big Day
Colton is 18 months and is in nursery! I cannot say how happy this makes me. When Kirsten turned 18 months it wasn't a big deal because I played the piano in primary so the presidency just stuck her in nursery when she was about 15 months. I play the piano in relief society now. It is so nice to not have Colton helping me play the piano or running all over the place.
As for his 18 month stats:
Height: 75%
Weight: 90%
Head: 75%
This is such a blurry picture but such a typical Colton face.
The big news today... Kirsten was in her very first primary program! We've been practicing her part for the past few weeks and besides the one time she picked her nose and ate it, she did great! She said, "my favorite thing is to do at family home evening is to teach the lesson and eat the candy after." She did such a good job and wasn't nervous at all. I was so so proud of her!

Update
I don't know what my deal has been. But I have been horrible with computer stuff recently. Maybe it's my recent obsession with crafts...I don't know. Here is what we've been up to the last few weeks. Warning: most of these pictures were taken with my camera phone so they're not the best. Warning #2: It's been a while since I've posted so there are LOTS of pictures on this post.
I went in with 6 other girls from our stake with kids about Kirsten's age for preschool. So once every 7 weeks I have to...I mean get to teach.
One day while the kids were at our house I let them decorate a haunted house.
Here's how it turned out.
Whenever I go to the park during the week with the kids. I usually just keep Colton in the stroller because I don't want to chase him around. I was feeling kind of bad about that. So,
one day while Kirsten was at school I decided to take Colton to the park. He had so much fun.
He was a little nervous to go down this steep slide by himself. So it took him a while to let go.
Colton is kind of a crazy kid. The ladies that watch him at the gym had to make an accident report when he fell down last week and hit his head on the table. The first line of the report was, "Colton is a very active child." That may even be an understatement.

Kirsten has been loving ballet. At the end of class they get to play freeze dance.
Colton gets to join them for that.
This is mostly what he's doing while his sister is in ballet.
We go to the park every Wednesday for playgroup. Last Wednesday was a lot colder than I had anticipated so Colton was forced to wear his sister's girly jacket.
Friday night we decided to check out the drive-in theater. We went and saw Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Which was a super cute movie. We were teasing Colton that if he kept shoveling food into his mouth he was going to look like the mayor in the end of that movie (if you've seen it you know what I mean). Colton sat in the back and actually watched most of the movie. I think it may have been a little over Kirsten's head.
Yesterday the library had a little Halloween party. Kirsten's dressing up like Little BO Peep. I still haven't finished Colton's sheep costume.

Colton kept hoarding all of the bean bags...
So he could go and try to throw them in this.
In the middle of August this family moved into our ward. It's no secret that I haven't totally loved it here, but Danie has made it so much better. They have a little girl, Brighton, who is a year younger than Kirsten, and a son Porter, who is 6 months younger than Colton. They are seriously an answer to my prayers! Here's Kirsten and Brighton playing dress up.
Ok, so this is random, but did anyone watch the Bachelorette this year? Well, if not there was this super jerky guy named Wes who was in a band and was basically just on the show for publicity. Well, when I drove by this sign yesterday, I have to say it warmed my heart to know that this was as far as he had made it in his music career.
