San Antonio

We took a trip to San Antonio last weekend. It was so fun! So nice to get away.

Our first stop was Sea World
Feeding the DolphinsKirsten was a little nervous, but she thought it was so cool that all the dolphins were smiling.

The best part of the whole trip was that we got to see our great friends Cameron and Kressyda and their kids. It felt like being home.
We did not take enough pictures, so sorry guys this all we have.

The best part of Sea World...Shamu. Colton thought the animals were scary, but Kirsten loved them so much that she's been pretending to be Shamu every morning in the bath.
Where we spent most of our time
Kirsten and Eliot became fast friends. Kirsten could not understand why we couldn't see him more since he lives in Texas too.

Proof that Colton was there too

The hotel

Kirsten was probably most excited that she got to stay in a hotel. They both thought it was hilarious to play peek-a-boo in the curtains.

Kirsten feeling like a princess.

The Riverwalk

The Riverwalk was just as awesome as everyone said it would be. It was so nice to see water and trees! I LOVED it!

Kirsten checking out the little baby ducks.
We took a little boat tour.

Let's go Scooter!

Kirsten got a scooter for her birthday and those are the words we hear non stop "mom, let's go scooter"(oh and imagine scooter said with a NE accent, she says her O's like a New Yorker or I guess a Pennsylvanian, I love it!). Kirsten and I go back into our little tiny backyard and ride back and forth. It's the first thing she's ever had that she just cannot get enough of.

Kirsten's Birthday Party

Kirsten had her very first friend birthday party yesterday. She has been so excited about it for months. She loves the Backyardigans, so that was the theme.
I didn't take very many pictures but they played "pin the bow tie on the Pablo", limbo, they pulled the strings on a pinata, danced...it was tons of fun!

Happy Birthday Kirsten!

Today is my little girl's 4th birthday! How crazy is that?!? She is such a sweet little girl. She is growing up way too fast. We went to Toys R' Us today so that she could look at scooters (what she really wanted for her birthday). Jonathan showed her one and she said "that...is so awesome" in this "I'm 14, not 4" voice.
She got this adorable dress from Grandma and papa last weekend and has pretty much been wearing it ever since. She loves to act like she's my age. She got a little computer from grammy and has been loving to to act like she's looking at blogs and stuff.
She's such a sweetheart and we love her sooooo much!!

Easter

We had an awesome Easter weekend. I love Easter! My Mom, Dad, Geoff, and Emily came down and spent the weekend with us.

We had an Easter Egg hunt on Saturday. Emily got the most Eggs! And as a reward got an egg full of ants...Awesome!Geoff wanted to participate so we made him do it with one leg and one arm.

We had an insane hail storm Saturday night. So that was exciting running around outside trying not to get pelted in the head while covering the cars with blankets, oh actually that was Jonathan, I just stood inside and watched.Easter Morning

We had a great Easter even though Colton was sick and pooped all over everything TWICE! and it was his birthday (Kirsten's 1st birthday was on Easter too, anyone else think that's weird) Anyway, it was so nice to spend Easter with family!

Happy Birthday Colton!

My sweet little baby turned 1 today! I can't believe how fast time has gone by!
Some things about Colton that will help me remember what he is like now:
He is so happy. He's always smiling and making funny faces.
His favorite word (out of 3) is "no" right now. He says it very authoritatively and it's so cute.
If he really wants something he'll follow me around saying "ma ma ma ma ma"
He's into everything! We didn't have to child proof our house really with Kirsten, but with him it's another story. Thank goodness he can't walk yet!
He likes to pretend to lead the music whenever we sing in Church.
He doesn't like to be snuggled unless he's really tired, which usually only happens in the middle of the night.
He makes a really adorable "pig" face.

From the moment I saw his sweet little chubby cheeks, I was smitten.

Colton's first haircut and Kirsten's Easter egg hunt

Before

After

Kirsten had her Easter egg hunt at school on Wednesday. She's so different than I was when I was young. I would do WHATEVER it took to get as many eggs as possible, push other kids down... Kirsten, on the other hand, just casually walks out, she watches the other kids pick up eggs, if she happens to walk by an egg she'll pick it up, while I stand yelling at her telling her to hurry and get some eggs, and she just comes over to me and says "hi Colton, hi Colton, how are you?"

Kirsten memory

The first Sunday we were in Oklahoma my brother and mom gave (wonderful) talks in church. From the moment we got out of church Kirsten has been pretending to give talks. She would stand behind the coffee table with her scriptures and start saying things like "this world is really important, becuase it's really important" and other religious gems. One day when she was finished giving her talk she said, "my husband Gwart will now give a talk" So she sits down on the fireplace and stares at where Gwart is standing for a couple minutes. Then she gets up and says in her animated way, "I'm sorry my husband talked for so long..."
