Well we finally made it here to Texas. We had a great trip coming out here (pictures to come).

Since we've moved in we've been really encouraged by the things people in our ward have said.

"It took me a good year to get out of my deep depression after moving here."

"It usually takes people about 2 years before they like it here. Well, maybe not like it, but it may feel like home."

"I cried everyday for the first 2 months after moving here, but it gets better"

"This ward is known for being really cold so I hope you're saying "hi" to people."

Sounds like we've got a lot to look forward to.

On a good note, we went out looking at Christmas lights tonight and we came across one of those awesome houses that has 50,000 volts of electric lights set to music. Pretty awesome huh? (I'm trying to be positive about this whole thing.)

I'm so glad you guys made it safely. That is so sad all those things that people have said to you guys!!!!! Is it pretty bad?!?! Do you at least like your house?? :) I hope you are surprised and end up loving it!!!! Is Kirsten so excited for Christmas? Jocelyn actually sat on Santa's lap this year!!! I was shocked! :)

Wow. People really said that huh? Hey, you never know! I cried when we came to Bartlesville and thought it was horrible! You just might like it!

Oh Jenny! That is so hard! There WILL be some great things that come from living in Texas...I'm sure of it! That is just such a downer that people are saying those things. That's why you should just leave and come to OK when I get there...DO IT!

Oh sad:( I hope you're finding things to be happy about, I'm sure you are. You're going to turn that ward around and make it so fun then everyone will say to the new people how lucky they are to be in Jenny's ward!!! They just don't know what's coming!

Welcome to God's county, where you can still carry a gun on your hip, swim in December and watch America's team.

Jon, ha, ha, ha, did you sing the whole song? It will be fine Jenny. We heard some of the same comments in our Seattle ward. Can you imagine if we had never lived there? Just heard from Sis. Butler, love her!

Was that a message from little Emily up there?? What a witty little thang she is ;D I totally miss all ya'll (wink wink.) How far are you guys from home in OK? Hopefully not too far. It's hard to transition. We've transitioned quite nicely in our neck of the woods in Texas. We love it here. BUT, have you talked to Cam and Kressyda lately? They are also living in an interesting part of Texas now...Laredo! Pretty funny. No worries, girl, you and Jon are the best! You're like crazy friend magnets ;D

I thought EVERYBODY loved Texas. Keep up the positive attitude. Our first ward in Ohio was a lot like that--really big, really cold. I felt like we were lost in the shuffle and I began to dread getting up on Sunday. And as crazy as it sounds...One Saturday night, after 3 months of living here and just a few days before the New Year, I opened a fortune cookie that read "Life is what you let it be!" So a fortune in a cookie became my mantra, and eight months later I was very, truly sad to leave that ward. It WILL get better, and you will become a better person for overcoming the obstacle. So Jon...have you hung your rifle in the back window of your car yet?
