Nutcracker

Ever since Kirsten saw Emily in the Nutcracker last year she has been so excited to be able to be in it when she turned 5. So, two weeks ago she went to auditions. When we showed up at the ballet studio there were TONS of kids there. They were auditioning 5-7 year olds. The kids were taken into a room with a number pinned on them, the doors were closed and all we could do was wait. They did give us some reading material though..."how to help your child deal with rejection". An hour later she was done. I guess it wasn't at all stressful for the little kids. I think Kirsten thought it was just another day at ballet. The parts were posted the week later and Kirsten is a Mouse! We are super excited. Kirsten was disappointed because for some reason she wanted to be a soldier. We went to her costume fitting yesterday and I think she got excited when she tried on her mouse costume. I can't wait for December 11 to see her scampering across the stage kind of like this...

Way to Kirsten... she'll be a great mouse! Is this a children's production? Or the big time?
