We went to the zoo last weekend with Rachel and Seth and kiddos. Besides the fact that it was super hot we had a great time.
Colton has a hard time at the zoo because there is a train. That's all he can think about and talk about.
Me: "hey look at the bears Colton."
Colton: "look at the train!"
Jon: "wanna see the penguins Colton?"
Colton:"wanna see the train!"
Needless to say he was very happy to ride the train at the end of our time at the zoo.
Kirsten loved running around and playing with her friends and checking out all the animals, which she loves! He told me one time, "I just love all animals so much."
Max just sat in his stroller and would constantly say "animals, animals".

Max's First day of school
Max is doing mothers day out once a week this year and today was his first day. When I dropped him off he sat right down in his little chair and was totally fine. And then all the screaming children came in... his cute little lip started to quiver and his eyes filled up with tears. It was kinda heartbreaking. After giving him a hug he was fine.
When I went to pick him up I could hear him as I walked down the hall saying "bye bye" over and over. His teachers said he did very well and even took a nap!
He looked cute in his carseat when we were waiting for Kirsten at soccer practice so I had to snap a few pictures.

Kirsten's first days of 2nd grade!
Kirsten started school last Thursday. She loves her teacher and her class. She keeps telling me how much easier 2nd grade is than 1st. Hopefully that lasts! Funny story from her first few days. She sits at a table of boys. I was asking her if she talks much to the boys at her table. She sheepishly said "yea". I could tell they had talked about something too embarrassing to say. She wanted me to guess so i kept asking her "did he say this?" "did he say that?" And then finally told me that a boy asked her if she wanted to marry him and then said "what am I saying?! You are cute, but what am I saying?!". We both got a good laugh out of it! Here's hoping she continues to love 2nd grade!
Colton's first day
Here is the only pic I got of Colton on his first day of pre-K. Since he was there for a lot of last year all the teachers know him, which was really nice! The day before school started Kirsten asked him if he wanted to go to school tomorrow and he said, "no sanks (thanks)". He wasn't too excited about it but I think he did ok anyway.

Easy Bake oven and the Olympics
Kirsten really wanted to have a party while watching gymnastics a couple weeks ago. We decided to make donuts. We had so much fun making them and watching gymnastics. They weren't as delicious as we hoped but it didn't matter. Kirsten pretended to be an Olympic athlete all during the olympics. She ran around like a track star, did tricks with a ribbon (or a piece of yarn... She really likes the pole vaulting, diving, and synchro swimming.
