Snow Day

Last Monday it finally looked like Winter around here. The kids were out of school so they put on their snow pants and headed outside. Colton lasted only a few minutes because it was freezing!

Kirsten and Daddy stayed out long enough to make this snowman.

Max loved walking around in the snow.

Kirsten loves doing experiments so I thought it would be fun to show her how to make marshmallows. I've never made them either so it was an experiment for me too. They were a huge mess we had marshmallow cream all over the kitchen but it was a pretty neat process.

I saw on Pinterest some ideas for a Minute to Win It Valentine's edition game. So that's what we did for FHE after Kirsten told us a story about Penguins who fell in love. We took turns wrapping each other in toilet paper.

Stacking conversation hearts.

Throwing marshmallows in a bowl and moving conversation hearts with a pencil from one bowl to the other. It was quite fun I must say.

Max kept putting conversation hearts in his mouth and then spiting them out. So Colton would pick them up and try to clean them off.

Last couple weeks

Kirsten made her Valentine's and box on Saturday. She is getting so big. She did it all by herself and really did want her picture taken to document it so she was being a little silly.

e

Max looked cute eating his pancakes the other day.

There are days when the first thing these boys do when we get home is take their pants off. For the most part they love playing together. Max really likes to push Colton's buttons and he loves to turn the light off to get Colton's reaction. And yes that is food all over Max's face.

Rachel made me a delicious dinner for my birthday. The kids were really excited that they got to see their new snake eat. it was pretty disgusting.

Jonathan heard about this restaurant in Tulsa that had trains everywhere so we decided we better take Colton to it. As expected, he loved it. He kept saying "mommy hurry up" and pointing to a train he wanted to go look at.

Going on a walk a couple weeks ago. There are a few empty lots in the back of our neighborhood that are perfect for throwing rocks and playing in dirt. Colton also liked the "tunnel". This is when the weather was still amazing!

Colton has a one track mind. He's been singing a lot lately. When he sings he gets really into it. His voice drops a few octaves and he totally rocks out. His favorite songs..."the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout. Down came the train goes round and round and round and round." and "jingle bells, jingle bells, ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding the train's comin' around". I have got to get it on video it's so funny.

Kirsten lost her first top tooth last week an she had her 100th day of school!

Jonathan went on a ski trip this last weekend so Kirsten and I partied it up on Friday night. She got to do her own make up and try on my wedding dress.

Colton went with me to drop daddy off. The whole way home he screamed "no, this way mommy", "I don't like it daddy airport." It was heartbreaking. I had to take a picture to show Jonathan how sad he was.

And some phone pics.

This winter has been crazy huh? So warm. We had a great time playing in the backyard on Saturday.

It seems like about 90% of my pictures are taken on my phone nowadays. Oh well it's either that or nothing.

Here are a few random pictures.

Kirsten says Max's hair looks like Justin Bieber's. Don't ask me how she knows who he even is.

Waiting for sister during gymnastics. Probably not my favorite thing now that Max is all over the place. I'm looking forward to a time when I can actually watch her practice. In other news she still loves it.

One of my favorite things is when our great friends Seth and Rachel come over with their kids. Last time they came over I decided to give a few Pinterest recipes a try. Can I just say the cupcakes I made were DE-licious! Seriously peanut butter frosting and brownies?? So good.

Max is loving slides these days. Thank goodness for a nice sister who takes him to the top of the toy at Chik-fil-a so mommy doesn't have to.

Last Monday Jonathan taught a lesson on when Nephi built the boat. So we built our own boats. The kids loved floating them in our little ocean.

One of Kirsten's latest pieces of art work.
